111th Fishing Tournament

October 26 – 31, 2017

This year turned out to be my first year since 1984 that the water temperatures have been high and have prevented the Striped Marlin from being in the waters of the East Cape, both in late May and the end of October.

Thank goodness for the Tuna and a few Dorado and 2 Blue Marlin for this trip The totals as we finished were 10 Dorado and 52 Tuna.

Sunrise Baja

Not since the June trip, 2013 have we had a Billfish count like this one. That trip in 2013 caught only 2 more Billfish than we did on the 106th.

Another beautiful sunrise greeted 25 anglers and guests on the first day of fishing. 19 anglers fished on a total of 22 Cruisers (18 in tournament). If you missed this one, we could have used more help, and we ended up with over 3 fish per angler, 66 total.

104th Tournament

June 27 – July 2, 2014

East Cape – Baja Sur

We were met with temperatures in the 90’s and at times high humidity which was not seasonal for June.  It was compared to August weather by the local residents who stay all year.

We were greeted by staff and the boat crews who welcomed as usual when we arrived.  Enough can not be said about their friendliness, courtesy and professionalism.

The humidity and numerous clouds most of the mornings gave us some beautiful sunrises and twice lit up skies at sunset.
